Dana is currently involved in a research project concerning weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. This research specifically looks at the value of volumetric carbon dioxide via the NICO device as an indice of successful weaning.
Shawna Strickland, MEd, RRT-NPS, AE-C
Shawna is currently active in research concerning adult asthma education, distance education and the factors affecting the success of the learner. Her most recent publications include the articles "The Effectiveness of Blended Learning Environments for the Delivery of Respiratory Care Education" found in the Journal of Allied Health, 2008 and "Understanding Successful Characteristics of Adult Learners" found in Respiratory Care Education Annual, 2007. She has also presented her research with D. Evans and J. Domachowski at the American Association of Respiratory Care's Summer Forum (2008) and her research with T. Hogan and R. Hogan at the American Thoracic Society's Annual Conference (2007).
