Respiratory Therapy Program Information

 

 

Scott practicing intubationThe University of Missouri-Columbia Respiratory Therapy Program consists of two years of prerequisite course work plus a two-year (six-semester) professional phase. The six-semester professional phase is offered both on the Columbia campus and at our extension site, St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Each year 12-16 students are accepted into the University of Missouri-Columbia campus Respiratory Therapy Program; an additional 4-8 students are accepted into the MU extension site at St. John's. Applications are available the first week in October and applications for admission to the professional phase are due February 1 (winter semester of your sophomore year).

Kristin during PediatricsTransfer guides are available for many of the accredited public/private colleges, universities, and community colleges in Missouri. Each guide lists the courses that will transfer to meet the MURT program's prerequisite requirements.
