GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Students who apply must have graduated from an AMA accredited program in radiography.

  • Students should follow the Radiography Curriculum Guide as closely as possible.

  • The University of Missouri-Columbia provides a listing of transfer credit equivalencies for all accredited public/private colleges, universities, and community colleges in Missouri at URL https://musis1.missouri.edu/course_equiv/intro.cfm. Out-of-state transfer students will need to contact the Registrar's office for transfer credit equivalencies.

  • Students who apply to the Radiography Program must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average at or above the following standards:
    45-59 semester credit hours - 2.25 CGPA
    60 and above semester credit hours - 2.50 CGPA

  • Once accepted into the Radiography Program, a student must achieve a "C" grade or above in all required courses and earn a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average each semester. If the student does not maintain a 2.5 semester grade point average, the Radiography Program faculty will review the situation with the option to recommend dismissal.

  • Successful completion of this program will entitle the student to a Bachelor of Health Science - Radiologic Sciences degree.

The Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL is required of every applicant whose native language is not English. A TOEFL score cannot be more than two years old. Our minimum TOEFL score requirement is 600 (paper-based test) or 250 (computer-based test); however, many other departments may have higher requirements.

II. APPLICATION PROCEDURE (Read all materials carefully and follow instructions)

A. All student applicants must:

  • Return the completed application to the Radiography Admissions Committee, 605 Lewis Hall, University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia , MO 65211.
  • Distribute three Confidential Evaluation of the Applicant forms to individuals in two of the following categories: 1) supervisor or employer, 2) college professor, 3) high school teacher, 4) athletic coach, or 5) clergy. These will be sent to you with the application form. Evaluations must be received BY THIS OFFICE DIRECTLY FROM THE EVALUATOR.
  • Forward your American College Testing (ACT) Assessment Scores to this office. The scores may be recorded on your high school transcript (send photocopy) or may be available through the testing agency. If you took the SAT or GRE, these may be substituted. Students without an ACT composite score of 21 or better do not have a high probability of acceptance unless other aspects of their academic record are extremely strong.
  • If you have not taken the ACT, SAT or GRE or wish to update your scores, the ACT test is available through the University Test Administration Services Office, 205A Parker Hall. Call two weeks in advance for an appointment (573-882-4801) and fees. Bring a photo I.D. with you. If MU is not convenient for you, check your own school's testing office to make arrangements for the exam.

B. Transcripts

  • University of Missouri-Columbia students - The Admissions Committee will obtain a transcript directly from the Registrar's Office for those applicants who are attending school on the MU campus for the current Fall Semester.

  • Non-University of Missouri-Columbia students - You must send transcripts of completed college work from every school attended to:

    Radiography Program
    605 Lewis Hall
    University of Missouri-Columbia
    Columbia , MO 65211

  • Transcript from your Radiography Program if it s a certificate program.

III. PROCESSING APPLICATIONS

  • The Degree Completion Admissions Committee will review and evaluate each applicant's packet when it is complete.
  • You may telephone the Program Office if you have not received a response to your application within two (2) months at 573-882-8405.
  • Accepted students and those not accepted will be notified by mail.

IV. ACCEPTANCE TO THE RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM IS CONTINGENT UPON:
        Acceptance by the University of Missouri-Columbia (transfer students).
