Occupational Therapists may:
  • Use assistive technology to adapt a computer that would enable
    a person to return to work
  • Use play to help a child with developmental delays improve
    gross and fine motor function
  • Enable a person with a stroke to regain self care abilities
    such as dressing and driving a car
  • Evaluate work and home environments, then recommend
    ergonomic modifications for safety and independence
  • Assist a person with mental health problems regain effective
    interpersonal and work skills
  • Develop programs in hand rehabilitation to retrain hand function
