1.) Resources the Disabled Can Use to Acquire and Fund Computers
This report, developed in 1994, lists all the known sources for acquiring and funding computers, including grants, community and corporate programs, technology-related programs, and a list of companies producing adapted programs. The report is available from Twin Peaks Press, PO Box 129, Vancouver, WA 98666 (360) 694-2462. Cost $5.
2.) State-Technology Programs
The National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) funds programs available in 49 states. Services include identification of equipment needs and help locating local lenders who fund loans for equipment purchases. For more information about the program in Missouri, call 800-647-8557.
3.) National Cristina Foundation provides computer technology and solutions to give people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons the opportunity, through training, to lead more independent and productive lives. http://www.cristina.org/
