Communication Science & Disorders

Message from the CSD Department Chair

Welcome to the MU Communication Science and Disorders website. We are delighted with your interest in our
field and our department. We are proud of our long and distinguished history and the high quality of both our faculty and staff and our students . We have an excellent faculty-student ratio, with generally small classes, and much opportunity for one-to-one interaction, including research. In addition to our undergraduate (BHS) and master's (MHS) degree programs, we offer the only Ph.D. in Communication Science and Disorders at a public university in Missouri. MHS graduates of our program demonstrate superior knowledge and skills on the national certification examination for speech-language pathologists, the NESPA. For well over a decade, our pass rate has been 100%, and our students' average scores are well above the national average. Their employment rate after graduation is equally impressive.

We invite you to explore our website, which will provide information on the career opportunities in communication disorders, on the various degree programs, how to apply , and many other aspects of our department. Please feel free to for additional information, or to arrange a visit.
