Research: Human and animal

• For humans, the specific effects of selected exercise interventions for the modification of physical frailty in old adults (flexibility, balance, weight-training or aerobic exercise).
  
  
• Animals are used to further understand the role of exercise to modify frailty (old rats) and to determine what role, if any, hormones play (e.g., testosterone, estrogen) in the decline of skeletal muscle and bone. These studies have applications to long-term space travel - NASA.
