Department of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook
Physical therapy is a dynamic profession with an established theoretical base and wide spread clinical applications. Physical therapists may specialize and treat a particular patient population such as children or the elderly, or generalize and work with a wide range of patient types and conditions.
Consultation, education, and clinical research are increasingly important responsibilities.
Salaries are commensurate with experience and education, and tend to be higher in rural areas where health care professionals are in short supply.
Contact the American Physical Therapy Association for additional information.
