Deana O'Brien

Deana O'Brien

Deana O'Brien is the Parent Consultant with the Missouri Partnership for Enhanced Delivery of Services (MO-PEDS), providing that crucial and often overlooked parent-to-parent connection. Deana provides emotional support to families. Deana also authors the MO-PEDS Newsletter and helps to monitor the MO-PEDS listserv, providing an opportunity for our families to keep informed on timely issues and to connect with one another. Deana provides the MO-PEDS team with a family perspective for use in planning intervention and training activities. She has years of first-hand experience resolving issues with local agencies and school districts, helping families to develop their advocacy and team-building skills on behalf of their children. Deana has served more than seven years on the Missouri Special Education Advisory Panel and the Missouri Assistive Technology Council advocating for equitable education and equal access through the use of technology.
