Scholarship Opportunities
The School of Health Professions offers a number of different scholarships to students. Scholarships may be based on qualifications such as achievement, financial need, or community service. - Scholarships for Incoming Freshman

Scholarships for Incoming Freshman
Freshman Talent Scholarship (Application due December 1)
Award amount: $1750 per year (fall and winter)
Selection criteria:
- Be a 1st year college freshman
- Ranked in the top 25% in senior high school class
- Submit a completed scholarship application with essay; and
- Enroll in the School of Health Professions for both the fall and winter semesters of the freshman year
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester during the scholarship period
Nancy and Bill Laurie Scholarship (Application due by December 1)
Award amount: $1500 per year
No application is necessary , recipient is notified by the office of Financial Aid.
Selection criteria:
- Recipient must have graduated from a high school within the state of Missouri
- Be enrolled in college full time
- Be an SHP student and;
- Have financial need

Scholarships for Returning or Transfer Students
Richard E. and Carol B. Oliver Scholarship
Award amount: $250 per year
Eligible students are first selected by the scholarship committee then notified of eligibility by letter.
Selection criteria:
- 29 or higher on the ACT and top 10% high school graduating class; or,
- Have gained admission to the MU Honors College; or
- Be a SHarP Scholar

School of Health Professions Scholarship
Award amount: $700
This scholarship is awarded to students entering the senior year of their professional program and he/she must:
- Have completed one semester at MU campus;
- Have earned at least at 3.5 cumulative GPA for professional coursework completed at MU.(minimum of one semester)
- Submit a completed scholarship application with an essay
- Application deadline is February 1st. Applications may be submitted to 504 Lewis Hall.
