David Mount, Psy.D., is a NIH T-32 Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he completed a two-year clinical residency in Clinical Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. He earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University and his bachelor's degree from Alabama State University.
Dr. Mount was awarded a Behavioral Sciences Fellowship through the Epilepsy Foundation of America (2002-03) with projects investigating differences in employment outcomes for persons with disabilities based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, age, and rural/urban residency. He is currently in the process of completing manuscripts in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. He has co-authored several peer reviewed articles to date, including a paper on the impact of race on the vocational outcomes of persons with traumatic brain injury, and the financial implication of traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Mount's research program is concentrated on acquiring the research skills necessary to become a leader in minority health research. His interest areas include:
· Health disparities and quality of life determinants
· Social and cultural dimensions of health
· Neuropsychological measurement and group differences
· Public and health policy influence on minority outcomes
